Love Came

Hello lovelies,

I’m posting from the warmth (literal and emotional) of my parent’s house in Canada.  It has been such a timely gift to be here for the last week.  Being an ever growing, ever tiring pregnany lady navigating life in London had taken it’s toll and it was definintely time to say ‘cheerio’ for a couple of weeks.  We made it out of Gatwick 20 minutes before they shut the place down, so the gift of being here feels even greater.

I have a lot to be thankful for this year.  I’ve got a baby cooking in my belly, an amazing partner to do life with, and a family (immediate and adopted) so wonderfully vast, varied, and generous it is hard to find any reason to complain.  And I won’t.

Sometimes the hype of Christmas as we westerners know it can become so glittery that we neglect to remember how fortunate we are, and that the TRUE gift giver came down as a baby, and showed us what love really means.

I’m not going to go on about alternative presents, giving to charity etc etc etc; because it’s a bit late for that, and honestly, we should all know by now. So my Christmas advice to you this year comes in the form of (you guessed it) some song lyrics by the amazing James Taylor:

Shower the people you love with love
Show them the way that you feel
Things are gonna work out fine if you only will

Shower the people you love with love
Show them the way that you feel
Things are gonna be much better if you only will

Much love to you and yours,

Mel xo
